The client
Lamour Bakes is a London cake maker that has been creating bespoke cakes and cupcakes since 2020, for birthdays, weddings, christenings and other celebrations, with delivery across London.
Every order is different. Customers arrive with an occasion, a date and an idea of what they want, so the business needed a website that could turn that idea into a clear order request.
The challenge
People choosing a celebration cake buy with their eyes first, and many find a baker through social media. Without a proper website, customers had no single place to see the range, check prices and flavours, or place a clear order, so enquiries could easily turn into a long back-and-forth of messages.
What the business needed
A website that shows off the cakes, answers the questions customers ask before ordering (what does it cost, what sizes, which flavours, do you deliver to me?) and then makes ordering simple.
For the business, every enquiry needed to arrive with the details required to quote: the event, the cake, the date, the number of servings and the delivery address.
Our approach
We planned the site around the customer’s decision: be inspired, check it’s affordable, choose the details, then order. Each section answers the next question a customer is likely to have, and every part of the page leads towards “Place Your Order”.
What we built
A design that feels as special as the cakes
An elegant, warm look with the headline “Elegant Cakes for Every Occasion” and two clear buttons from the first screen: Place Your Order and View Gallery.
A gallery customers can filter
The “Our Creations” gallery can be filtered by Cakes, Cupcakes and Sets, so customers jump straight to the kind of order they have in mind.
Services explained by occasion
Birthday, wedding and christening cakes, cupcakes, bento box sets and custom designs are each described in plain language, matching how customers think about their event.
Clear starting prices
A price list shows starting prices and serving sizes for bento cakes, bento box sets, heart cakes and cupcake boxes, with a note that toppers and extras are quoted separately. Customers know what to expect before they get in touch.
Flavours at a glance
Twelve popular flavours are listed, with an invitation to request a custom flavour.
An order form that captures what’s needed to quote
Customers give their event type, cake type, preferred date, number of servings, London delivery address and design details in one go, so the business can reply with a quote.
Social proof and social links
A reviews section shows feedback from the bakery’s own customers, and the Instagram handle points visitors to the latest designs.
Easy to use on a phone
Many cake orders start from a phone, often after seeing a design on social media. The layout, gallery and order form are built to be easy to use on a small screen.
On desktop and mobile
Many cake orders start on a phone, often straight after seeing a design on Instagram, so the site was designed to work just as well on a small screen.
